Favorite subject

Hi, today i’m going to write about my favorite subject this semester: Introduction to ethnography. The 4th semester of Anthropology is known like “the most easy of the career”, but this subject motivated me a lot and I’ve really enjoyed it along the year. The classes are not the substantial axis of the subject, however, there the teachers give you both theoretical and technical tools to do a good job throughout the semester. The main axis of the branch consists in forming groups of 5 to 7 people who choose any topic that they like and that can be approached from an ethnographic methodology, articulating the contents mentioned before in terms of this field work. This way, the main contents are those that you propose in a group manner in this work throughout the semester, which is finally presented either through a video that is published on the YouTube platform, or through a written work with the formalities of a paper. Personally, this was my favorite subject because I worked with my group on a subject that I like too much: wrestling. And I had the opportunity to know new places where the wrestling is practiced in Chile, like Clandestino or Xplosion Nacional de Lucha (XNL). That’s all for today, see you in the next post!

Related Website

Hello! today i'm going to write about one of the websites that i usually visit because is related with my career, its name is http://www.precolombino.cl/. This is the website for the "Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino". Here we can find a lot of things about past societies and a brief description of them, especcially about those that inhabitated the current chilean territory. In that sense, i use this page because is useful for the contents of the subjects such as Prehistory or Archaeology, so every time that i have a test it's a support that cannot be missing to order my mind. In the website we can find a lot of categories like how you can planificate your visit to the museum, the currently expositions, the regions where the various collections come from, multiple educational resources that serve too much for learning, audiovisual material for teachers and information about how museum works. In this 4th semester i have visited this website one or two times in a week because "Prehistoria II" is killing me, and it has been very useful to battle against that subject. I would not change anything  to this page because it is quite simple and explanatory, That's one reason why I like it. That's all for today, see you in the next post!

My experience using blogs in the english class

Hello! Today i'm going to write about my experience in the English asignature, in particular how blogs helped me learn in a better way. This was the first time I took an asignature of this kind at the University and I think it was a good experience, especially with regards from the blogging tool. Throughout my student life I had never done a similar exercise that would encourage me to develop my writing and reading tools in English, since these are my weakest points and I always used to leave them aside. Writing about particular topics urged me to focus and concentrate, to question what costs me too much. However, I think that in the future more free themes should be taken into account in order to contrast the experiences, since this may serve to get carried away in writing. I also think that it would be better to raise the minimum floor of words, since some topics are very developable in terms of content and make the contrast between colleagues who write a lot and others can affect the note of some. Now finishing the asignature I feel that my skills have improved being reflected in the comments and writings that I usually do, as well as in the way I express myself in front of others. I hope that the following courses are better than this one in order to consolidate knowledge. See you in the next post, Goodbye!

My favorite photography

Hi! today I’m going to write about a picture I like too much and I always watch in bad moments. My mom took this photo on the 6th birthday of my sister Brenda in 13th January, 1998. In this picture, my older sister Inger (8 years) is sitting on the left, I’m in the middle and I’m almost a year old, and to the right is my sister Brenda. We are in the front yard of my house in Pudahuel. This picture means a lot to me because it represents the fraternity that we have as siblings and that is maintained until today. It also shows how, from the beginning, we had the confidence to share our love. The power of the pictures to capture and materialize every action as a concrete memory is immeasurable and its value goes beyond the limits of time. I think it is necessary that every moment of my life is in immortalized in a picture, because I think that memory is fragile and forgetting is easy. That is why I take pictures every time. I love it!

DOGS

Hi, today i'm going to talk about pets, specially about my favorite kind of, dogs. When i was born i arrived with a dog called Tomy, i grow with him, playing everyday and everytime. His company made me feel better everytime. I was really sad when he died in 2010. Now, recently i adopted another dog, her name is Kuki. She's is very active and i have to play with her everytime, even when i have to study or i have to do another thing, it make problems sometimes. I think pets are important to society because they make feel better to persons that are unhappy or depressed. Kuki arrived in my life in a very bad time and she really helped to me to overcome it. Altough, the require many cares that require a real commitment of family. Pets are important and dont deserve mistreatment or carelessness :(. That's all, i see you in the next post!

My favorite piece of technology

Resultado de imagen para computador hp

Hi! Today I’m going to talk about my favorite piece of technology, my computer. I think that computers revolutionized life of people. It has the capacity to allow a lot of things, like writing, listening to music and watching movies that before people used to do separated. I prefer it over cellphones because it developed first, so I got a little of affection for it because I used it in my childhood.

I got my first computer when I was 6 years old. It was a “tarro” that we used to share with my sisters Inger and Brenda. When we grew, we got a "HP" notebook that we also shared until the past year, when they bought personal computers and left me this notebook. Now I can use it always for doing work for university and things that I like to do, like listening to music and watching movies, without asking them if they have to do important things. My life without my computer would be more difficult in the university, I don’t know how it could be specifically. I think it could be interesting what computers will make in the future. In the recently past, nobody could ever thinked what computers make today, I am expectant about this!
That's all for now, i see you in the next post!

Dreams and career

Hi! Today I’m going to talk about my dreams jobs and how I finally chose to study Anthropology. When i was a child i had a lot of dreams jobs. First, i wanted to be an astronomer. I used to see a lot of documentaries about astronomy that combined with my taste of stars, planets and the instruments that people used to know the cosmos, like telescopes. Also, i thought about becoming a teacher. My dad had worked a lot of time being one and his example brought me the idea that teaching could be a very good option. While I was in the highschool I left those dreams and I didn’t think  much about I wanted to be in the future, the only that I knew was that I liked the subjects relationated with social sciences and humanities, so I thought follow that way and knew Anthropology. The pressure that I suffered  when I left the highschool and had to choose something was horrible. In the moment I was between two options: public administration and Anthropology. In the end, I decided for the last because it looked more interesting than the first and particularly for the Archaeology specialization that Universidad de Chile offered.   My experience in the university I don’t how to called it because the dudes that rounded my head when I chose the career follow in my head. I liked the career but it doesn’t convice me completely, although I have learned a lot of  things that I think that are amazing I don’t know if  will follow the next year. However, if I follow, I would like to work in themes relationated with patrimony. That’s all for Today! Bye!
